Tafota is only 1-1/2 years old and considerable attention was placed on the designs of our templates and the back end architecture of the admin area so the experience would be great for our clients and yours. The actual look of the Tafota logo and website was done too quickly in order to launch on time at Imaging USA in Tampa last year. We are in the process of correcting that oversight. Below are a few of the logo designs under consideration. Your feedback is requested. Please let us know what your favorite design is.

A couple of weeks ago we decided to have an unannounced contest among our Tafota clients. Each quarter we will be picking our favorites and submitting them to a panel of distingushed photographers and visual artists to be judged and scored. The top scoring website owner wins a series of prizes from Tafota ($50 check), David Beckstead (DVD instructional video “Becksteads in Bahamas) and a $50 coupon from Renaissance Albums. And the winner for the first ever, Tafota website contest is……….Creative Focus. Congratulations to Everett Stout for a very visually stunning site, great images and a really neat use of the customizable features of our template.
UPS just dropped off the latest copy of Professional Photographer magazine, which I thought was a bit odd, since it normally comes through the mail. I opened it and was scanning a few articles and it occurred to me that I was interviewed a couple months back about websites and how they impact your business. On page 66 I came across “Web Smarts” written by Curtis Walker and he keys in on a few websites and tells what makes them compelling. They even included a screen shot of our About page from my wedding photography site, http://grantoakes.com. You can see a little bit online at http://www.ppmag.com/current_issue/ Hopefully they’ll post a PDF of the entire article for those of you that don’t get the magazine.
As I prepare for WPPI 2009 I felt it would be appropriate to change the booth to better reflect our ad campaign in the magazines. Come to booth 1366 at the MGM Grand Marquee Ballroom level. Throughout the show we’ll have a few guest appearances that will be giving demos on the simplicity our interface.
Tafota will be sponsoring a workshop in the Bahamas in April. What makes this event so unusual is 1) it’s a real live wedding, 2) you’ll get to travel to this exotic resort on a luxury yacht, 3) there will be an underwater Trash the Dress session that will be simply amazing! This workshop will be conducted by Grant Oakes, the founder of Tafota. For more details go to www.artandinspiration.com
